If you want to achieve a different look for your loft and make it appear more spacious, try rearranging your furniture. If your budget allows for buying new pieces, you can add several pieces to serve as the focal point of the room. For example, a rug or an antique lamp can provide accent to your living space.

Here are examples of modifications you can make:
• Place a coffee table beside a couch or arm chair
• A console can be placed at the end of the room to display photographs, artwork or wine collections.
• If the color motif of your loft is starting to bore you and you can’t afford to repaint it yet, you can drape the floor with a bright rug and throw some bright pillows of different shapes to achieve a new appearance of the room.
• Hang paintings or other artwork on the walls. They don’t need to be some Picasso or Van Gough . Even your toddler’s doodles can make a great wall décor and can serve as conversation piece with visitors and family members.
• A fish bowl can give more life to loft living. Place an aquarium with rare fish in one corner of the room. Be careful though, not to place it within children’s reach.
• Use that empty vase on the shelf for freshly cut flowers. Or if you have a transparent vase, place colored stones, lemons or pears inside to give your room a fresh, vibrant look.
• Buy a wine rack.
• Use trendy bar stools and discard the old fashioned chairs in the dining area.
