Tame Those Windows
People who live in lofts are often faced with one big problem, windows. Though they are good for savings with lighting, but too much can make a loft too bright, straining your eyes and even causing some medical conditions. One can easily tame windows with commercial glass tinting products that are applied as a thin film of plastic with special coatings that allows enough light to get through, minus the damaging UV rays from the sun. Have the parts of your loft that need privacy installed with opaque tints that will keep your privates private. Heavy sunlight also has a knack of fading brightly colored things such as your favorite sofa and painting as if they were bleached laundry. Keep bright items in the shade or have some coverings you put onto them when not in use, Curtains are good but will require hefty bills when time comes to wash them for large windows require large curtains.
You can even chose to apply the screening film yourself that gives your windows an etched effect that are readily available from many builder’s supplies. Measure before you buy so you don’t get a design that just happens to run out when you go back to buy some more (buy a yard/meter or so extra for the first ones are going to try you out). Be sure you measure right and choose ones that have a lot in stock so you have options, or you can even mix and match to make your own personal design.
